Job Description
Wise Employment are currently seeking a Health and Safety Assessor to join a busy and established team within an expanding company in the Plymouth area.

As an assessor you will be dealing with contractors and consultants by telephone and email, and will be required to have a detailed knowledge of current H&S regulations as they relate to construction. The ability to apply that knowledge in a practical manner, understanding the nature of the work being completed by the contractor and being clear on what evidence of their H&S management systems they would need to submit in order to demonstrate their core Competence is an essential requirement of the role.

This will include the review of documentation provided to demonstrate H&S competence covering areas such as:

• Internal and external H&S advice

• H&S Policy Statements

• Process for Monitoring Audit and Review

• Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, Risk and COSHH assessments

• Training Certificates and Training Plans

• HSE Enforcements or RIDDOR actions

The documentation will cover businesses primarily involved in construction covering:

• One man operations to major UK construction companies

• Contractors, Consultants and Designers

Full training will be provided in house and technical support will be available from the Lead Assessor and other team members but Assessors will need to have a general understanding of the Construction industry and how Construction Sites operate.

This role will also involve prioritising work to meet deadlines with minimal hands on direction or supervision.

It is essential that the successful applicant has gained a NEBOSH General Certificate and ideally NEBOSH Construction.
